As Africa prepares to host Africa E-Mobility Week 2025 (AEW2025) in Addis Ababa this October, a powerful pre-event is already making waves across the continent: the AEW2025 Youth Summit.
Set for September 2025, this high-energy, interactive virtual summit is where Africa’s youth take centre stage in shaping the continent’s clean mobility future.
Under the theme “Jobs and Skills for the Future of E-Mobility,” the Summit aims to inspire, equip, and connect young Africans to the fast-emerging opportunities in sustainable transport, electric vehicles, and climate innovation.
Why It Matters:
Africa has the world’s youngest population, with over 60% under the age of 25. Yet, many young Africans remain disconnected from the green jobs and clean tech revolutions reshaping global economies. The Youth Summit was designed to close this gap by spotlighting real career pathways, youth-led startups, and cross-border collaboration in e-mobility
What to Expect:
This isn’t just another webinar. The AEW2025 Youth Summit is youth-led, interactive, and built for impact. Highlights include:
- Youth Voices Lightning Talks: Meet the changemakers leading clean mobility innovation in their communities.
- Masterclass on Green Jobs: Get practical insights on the top in-demand skills and career paths in e-mobility.
- Startup Pitch Stage: Watch youth founders pitch live to a panel of ecosystem investors and partners.
- Creative Performances & Live Art: From spoken word to digital art that captures our clean mobility dreams.
- Virtual Group Photo & Giveaways: Prizes, on-camera moments, and a chance to be featured on AEW2025’s platforms.
Designed By and For Young Africans
The Summit is co-convened by AfEMA and Youth for Sustainable Energy and Mobility (YSEM) and will feed directly into the mainstage programming of AEW2025 in Addis Ababa.
Post-event, standout youth speakers and startups will be featured in the AEW2025 Deal Book, plugged into investor networks, and have their ideas submitted to key policymakers, including the African Union and UNEP.
