Are you a young African changemaker passionate about education, gender equality, and leadership? The African Union’s International Centre for Girls’ and Women’s Education in Africa (AU CIEFFA) is calling on emerging leaders across the continent to apply for its 2025 Online Capacity Building Training Program.
This flagship program, now in its 6th edition, is designed to equip young African women and men (aged 18–35) with the knowledge, tools, and networks needed to champion gender-responsive education policies and practices in their communities.
Why This Opportunity Matters
Africa’s education systems sit at the heart of its transformation. Yet gender inequalities persist, from unequal access to learning to gaps in leadership and policy participation. The AU CIEFFA training is an investment in Africa’s youth, particularly those ready to engage with national and continental frameworks such as Agenda 2063 and the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 16–25).
Through a 4-week virtual training, participants will:
- Understand the intersection of education, gender, and development
- Explore advocacy strategies to shape policy and community action
- Join a pan-African network of youth leaders, mentors, and AU experts
- Receive certification and visibility for future leadership opportunities
Who Can Apply?
- Youth from AU Member States
- Aged 18–35 years
- Strong interest or track record in education, gender equality, advocacy, or youth leadership
- Able to commit to the full virtual training period (October 2025)
