The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), in partnership with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), has launched a major Call for Proposals for the Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) Programme.
This is your chance to secure funding of up to EUR 120,000 for projects that drive real, lasting change in your region.
What is COYWA Looking For?
The COYWA Programme is specifically looking to fund projects across Africa that focus on two key groups: young people and women. The goal is simple: to strengthen socio-economic empowerment, promote gender equality, and create opportunities for inclusive development.
They are funding projects in critical areas such as:
- Financial & Economic Empowerment: Vocational training, business incubation, and support for women-led businesses.
- Digital Access: Expanding technology and digital inclusion for women and youth.
- Health and Rights: Improving access to health, nutrition, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services.
- Safety and Security: Preventing and responding to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in communities.
- Leadership: Developing leadership skills for youth and women in business and politics.
Who Can Apply?
If your organization is making a difference on the ground, you are likely eligible!
- You must be legally registered in an African Union Member State.
- You must be a Civil Society Organization, a Youth-Led Enterprise, a Women-Led Enterprise, a Cooperative, or a relevant Public Institution.
- You must have at least two years of operational experience.
- Projects must be located in the regions covered by the five major Regional Economic Communities (EAC, COMESA, SADC, ECOWAS, ECCAS).
