eLearning Africa 2026: Africa’s Time, Africa’s Terms

Digital education is no longer the future; it’s the foundation. As Africa continues to chart its own path in a rapidly evolving technological landscape, eLearning Africa 2026 arrives at a pivotal moment. From 3 to 5 June 2026, Accra, Ghana (at the Accra International Conference Centre) will be the gathering place for policymakers, educators, innovators, youth, and thought-leaders across the continent and beyond.

Why This Conference Is Significant

For over 18 years since its launch in 2005, eLearning Africa has stood as the premier forum for knowledge-sharing on digital education, training and skills development in Africa. It is not merely about adopting technology; it’s about how Africa shapes technology to serve its needs — culturally, socially, and economically. In 2026, that mission takes on renewed urgency under the theme:

“Africa’s Time, Africa’s Terms: Learning for Sovereignty, Strength and Solidarity.”

This theme reflects the recognition that as global power dynamics shift, so too must Africa’s voice, agency, and strategies in education and digital learning. It is about leadership and ownership: who decides, who builds, and who benefits.

What It Means for Ghana

Ghana’s selection as host is no accident. The country has been pushing forward with significant education reforms, including the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP) and its Education Strategic Plan (2018-2030). With Accra’s strong base of EdTech innovation and increasing investment in foundational learning and infrastructure, Ghana is positioned to not only host but also play a leadership role in defining how Africa learns.

Why You Should Pay Attention, and Participate

  • Influence Policy & Practice: Ideas emerging from eLearning Africa 2026 are likely to shape funding, regulatory, and curricular decisions across the continent.
  • Learn and Leverage: Gain exposure to the tools, platforms and methodologies that are succeeding in Africa. Understand what works and what doesn’t, in both urban and rural settings.
  • Make Connections: Meet potential collaborators: NGOs, government agencies, entrepreneurs, and researchers. Many sessions, side events and the exhibition are perfect for forming partnerships.
  • Showcase Local Innovation: If you’re working on an EdTech solution, a research project, or a programme in digital education, this is a global stage to present your work and secure visibility, investment, or partnerships.
