What Is the EAccelerate Fund?

A visionary collaboration between the East Africa Screen Collective (EASC) and DW Akademie, now fully entrusted to Documentary Africa (DocA), the EAccelerate Fund empowers filmmakers to push boundaries and tell authentic stories from East Africa via a decolonised model of funding and mentorship.

What’s on Offer

  • Up to €20,000 per film to support production and development
  • Personalized mentorship throughout the filmmaking journey
  • Opportunities for regional screenings, with potential for international showcases

Who Is Eligible?

  • Eligible director-producer pairs must both be East African nationals
  • Open to storytellers from Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Comoros, Mauritius, Madagascar
  • Films must be under 20 minutes and 80% shot within East Africa
  • Completion deadline: December 1, 2025
  • Projects must be open to regional/international screenings.
